Forager

Dominic Maxwell is a master winemaker residing in Waipara Valley, North Canterbury. He came to us with a new venture — a new wine brand of three varieties limited to 160 bottles of each.

Waipara is famous for its hills and cliffs covered with fossils, sheep, goats and grapes. We came up with the name Forager and illustrated a fictional family of human-like creatures. We wanted these to feel like beings that were amongst us, yet outcasts, having lived for years in the hills slowly evolving into foraging animals. The labels are paired back, allowing the three different illustrations to take centre stage.
